The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low- and middle-income countries. CHAI works at the invitation of governments to support them and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems. The Associate will lead rigorous epidemiological and programmatic analysis for CHAI Cameroon's malaria program, working in close support of the Ministry of Health and the Programme National de Lutte contre le Paludisme (PNLP), and translating complex data into actionable recommendations. Responsibilities: - Conduct rigorous epidemiological and statistical analyses of malaria surveillance and program data (routine HMIS, surveys, operational research) to generate actionable insights. - Organize and merge available datasets, assess data quality and suitability for analysis, and apply relevant statistical methods including regression, time series and other approaches. - Analyse geographic and spatial data using GIS software, including descriptive and predictive mapping of malaria burden and intervention coverage. - Develop subnational epidemiological situation analyses and malaria burden estimates to guide resource allocation and programmatic prioritization across Cameroon's regions. - Synthesize evidence from global and regional literature to inform CHAI and PNLP technical and strategic decisions. - Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive M&E framework for CHAI Cameroon's malaria program. - Design and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks, indicators and data collection tools. - Provide technical support to the Ministry of Health on surveillance, data quality and use of data for decision-making. - Translate analytical results into clear briefs, dashboards and presentations for government and partner audiences.
Profil recherché
- Bachelor's degree in public health, epidemiology, statistics or a related field (Master's degree in epidemiology or public health preferred). - Experience designing and implementing M&E frameworks. - Proficiency in statistical tools (R, Stata, Python or SAS). - Experience with DHIS2 and national health information systems. - Fluency in French and English. - Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, decentralized environment. - Malaria program experience in sub-Saharan Africa (preferred). - Geospatial analysis skills (QGIS, ArcGIS) (preferred). - Prior work with Ministries of Health or global health donors (preferred).
