Job description

The primary responsibility of the Driver is to ensure that the transportation of International Medical Corps (IMC) staff and goods is carried out in a safe, secure, and efficient manner. In performing this role, the Driver shall comply with all applicable local laws, IMC policies, and established safety and security procedures to ensure the well-being of passengers, the protection of cargo, and the proper use of IMC vehicles. Scope of Work: - Adhere to local laws when driving and comply with country legal speed limits or International Medical Corps (IMC) speed limits, whichever are more restrictive. - Perform a daily inspection of the assigned vehicle before departure to ensure it is in good working condition. - Ensure that all assigned communication equipment is operational at all times. - Check that the vehicle is equipped with all required items, including a first aid kit, emergency food, spare parts, and any other mandatory equipment. - Apply all safety and security measures required by International Medical Corps. - Ensure that all passengers comply with safety and security measures during travel. - Ensure that all goods transported are safely secured and accompanied by a waybill. - Maintain the vehicle logbook by recording all trips, obtaining the relevant passenger signatures, and documenting all refueling activities. - Keep the vehicle clean and adequately fueled at all times. - Coordinate all movements with the relevant manager. - Immediately report any vehicle issue or accident to management. - Perform basic vehicle maintenance when required. - Inform the manager whenever servicing, repairs, or additional maintenance are required. - Immediately report any security concerns affecting IMC staff or vehicles. - Become familiar with the local area and the planned route before departure, particularly with regard to security concerns. - Ensure that the vehicle is always defensively parked, with the vehicle reversed into the parking space and positioned for a quick departure if necessary.

Requirements

- Fluent in French and Fulfulde. - Master the roads of the Far-north region of Cameroon.
