The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organization committed to saving lives and reducing the burden of disease in low- and middle-income countries. CHAI works at the invitation of governments to support them and the private sector to create and sustain high-quality health systems. The Program Associate, Data Scientist will support data-driven projects for women's health and maternal, neonatal and child health (MNCH) / sexual and reproductive health (SRH) initiatives in Cameroon. RESPONSIBILITIES Data Management & Technical Implementation - Support the mapping, cleaning and harmonization of women's health and MNCH/SRH indicator data from multiple sources (DHS, DHIS2, census, GBV datasets, LMIS, lab data, surveys), including data quality assessments and identification of proxy indicators where data gaps exist. - Lead the design and implementation of the Women's Health Equity Index (WHEI) using statistical techniques such as Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and regression modeling. - Develop a standardized data collection tool to serve as the central database for WHEI indicators. - Conduct scenario modeling using machine learning techniques (decision trees, Monte Carlo simulations) to evaluate programmatic impact. - Develop diagnostic readiness scorecards and analytics dashboards. - Conduct geospatial analysis and visualization using QGIS, Power BI and Tableau. Stakeholder Engagement & Documentation - Engage government and partner stakeholders around data products and findings. - Produce technical documentation, reports and dashboards for policy audiences.
Profil recherché
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics or a related field. - 1-3 years' experience in data analysis within public health contexts. - Proficiency in R, Python, SPSS or Stata. - Strong statistical knowledge and expertise with visualization tools. - Excellent organizational, communication and teamwork skills. - English (fluent) and French (working knowledge). - Preferred: experience with national health data systems (DHIS2, LMIS) or household surveys (DHS); understanding of Cameroon's health system and gender equity issues; report and dashboard development for policy audiences.
