Description du poste

2 Hour Learning is looking for a Director of Academics: a senior leader who has defined a bold academic vision, owned its outcomes and can tell the story publicly. The company has engineered a model where students learn twice as fast in just two hours a day, driven by AI tutors, mastery-based progression and a break from conventional classroom structures. This is a leadership mandate, not an academic theory role. You will own the academic strategy in practice, set clear standards, identify execution gaps and coach senior teams to deliver real outcomes, and you will become the external voice of a movement grounded in rigorous learning science. What you will be doing - Creating academic frameworks that translate learning science into practical guidance for curriculum, motivation systems and app design. - Leading academic execution reviews across Heads of Academics so school teams stay aligned, accountable and focused on results. - Synthesizing data, interviews and observation into academic ecosystem reviews that expose the highest-leverage barriers to accelerated learning and propose actionable interventions. - Driving strategic alignment through planning, feedback loops and milestone tracking. - Representing 2 Hour Learning at the highest levels, from keynote stages to sessions with Ministries of Education. What you will NOT be doing - Tinkering with isolated curriculum projects without driving systemic change. - Publishing abstract research with no line of sight to student results. - Delegating performance accountability to middle managers or consultants. - Relying on brand reputation or theory to persuade skeptical stakeholders. Candidate requirements - 7+ years in academic, EdTech, curriculum, learning product or education leadership roles, with direct responsibility for measurable results across multiple teams, subjects, programs or school models. - Experience directly managing managers or senior academic or product leaders, including setting standards, giving direct feedback and making difficult talent decisions. - A track record of improving academic, curriculum, student-outcome or learning-product performance through clear operating standards and disciplined execution. - Strong AI fluency, with hands-on experience building or shipping AI-enabled workflows, content or products. - An advanced degree in education, learning science, educational leadership, curriculum or a related field is preferred; exceptional leadership and execution can substitute. - Availability for 40 hours a week, with at least four hours of overlap with US working hours. Working conditions - Fully remote, worldwide, full-time (40 hours/week), flexible schedule, long-term role. - Compensation: USD 400,000 per year (USD 200 per hour). Recruited through Crossover; you work as an independent contractor with weekly payments.
