Finding your first UX/UI design job in Cameroon: where to start

For a first UX/UI design job in Cameroon, make your practice easy to understand. Employers should see the tasks you can perform, evidence from projects and the guidance you still need.
1. Read duties before job titles
On Kamerjob, try UX/UI designer, product designer, UI designer and interface designer. Some roles combine interfaces, graphics and content; others focus on research, prototyping or product teamwork. Match the actual duties to your skills.
Check location, any remote-work arrangements, experience requirements and deadline. Confirm the listing is still open.
2. Prepare two explained projects
Choose a mobile journey and a complementary problem, such as booking and request tracking. Include context, role, assumptions, selected screens, any testing and limitations. A clearly labelled fictional project can demonstrate a method without pretending to be client work.
3. Keep the application simple
- A readable CV stating your city and availability.
- A portfolio accessible without requesting editing permission.
- A short description of your design, tool and collaboration skills.
Prepare a lightweight PDF for situations with limited connectivity. Check it on a phone and make sure screen annotations remain readable.
4. Send a targeted message
“Hello, I am applying for the junior UX/UI designer role. My portfolio includes a mobile booking journey and a request-tracking project. I explain my decisions and the exercises’ limitations. I would like to contribute to interface design while developing within your team.”
5. Track and improve
Record vacancies, dates, responses and feedback. Ask about users, role objectives, developer collaboration and supervision. Choose further training to address a specific gap in the jobs you target.
