Finding your first storekeeper job in Cameroon: where should you start?
Interested in working in a storeroom, warehouse or retail stock area? Start with the actual duties: receiving, storage, picking, counting and movement records. A storekeeper title does not automatically mean salesperson or shop manager.
Target an appropriate role
Search Kamerjob for “magasinier”, “aide-magasinier”, “assistant stocks” or “préparateur de commandes”. These are search suggestions, not guaranteed available vacancies. Compare duties and requirements: education, experience, tools and availability vary by employer.
Beginners can describe receiving work in a shop, an internship or an association activity. State honestly what you did and what was supervised.

Review your existing skills
- Reading item references and checking quantities in the right unit.
- Organising documents and retrieving information.
- Entering data and checking mistakes.
- Following instructions and reporting discrepancies.
Practise missing skills through fictional exercises. Watching a video does not establish professional software experience.
Prepare a simple application
Create a readable CV with activity dates and specific tasks. You can include a practice table of five items showing reference, location, unit and quantity. Clearly identify it as an exercise.

Plan your journey in Douala, Yaoundé or the relevant locality. A head office is not necessarily the warehouse address.
Clarify conditions
Ask about proposed pay, hours, supervision, equipment and physical demands. Clarify any assessment’s length and purpose. Do not operate unfamiliar equipment to demonstrate motivation.
Verify the employer and unusual requests, especially payment to reserve a position. A useful first experience has clear duties, instructions and someone available to answer questions.
